For a song with a blatantly obvious video narrative possibility (seriously: beach + dude floating in choppy seas= video gold), the clip for Frightened Rabbit's "Swim Until You Can't See Land" is understated live video faire. There's some cutesy use of flashlights by fans of the band, but this thing looks like it was shot for $100 bucks by a friend of the band who has a nice camera, which kind of fits the raw emotional tenor of the song.
The "Swim Until You Can't See Land" single is due out on Nov. 16. The band's third album is due in spring 2010. [Stereogum]
