"Skeleton Boy" is one of the best tracks off of Friendly Fires' self-titled debut, and much like other Friendly Fires standout "Paris," it has now been the recipient of an excellent remix that completely revamps the sound of the original. Swedish chillout kings Air France have turned "Skeleton Boy" from a bleeding, pleading example of the band's strut into a gorgeous example of Air France's own sunset electronica. They break up singer Ed MacFarlane's to fit in with their own waves of revelatory instrumentation. Also, like Aeroplane's rework of "Paris," the Swedes add some complementary female vocals to the track to turn the remix even further away from the original. Air France's remix will appear on the upcoming "Skeleton Boy" single, available for download in the U.S. March 3 on XL. [Pitchfork]
This is now the second Air France remix to become a song of the day for me. Wow, I guess cosmic bliss-disco is what these times call for.
