Friendly Fires: "Hurting" (Video)
While recording their sophomore album Pala, Friendly Fires were feeling much more optimistic about life and began experimenting with dance punk sounds. As such, the record is an upbeat counterpoint to the band's lyrically somber eponymous debut. That's not to say everything is particularly bouyant on Pala, such as its latest single, "Hurting." The kiss-off lyrics are emotionally distressed, but there's an optimism to them that helps the track remain afloat. It doesn't hurt that the "Hurting" music video is totally awesome. Seriously, will impressive special effects and editing ever get old? I think not. Watch the video below.
