Friendly Fires have been on these shores promoting the recently release Pala, and here they are on the big outdoor show at Jimmy Kimmel’s show. The wide open spaces suit their expansive (and it has to be said, somewhat empty) sound, and singer Ed Macfarlane gets a few genuine pop star-ish screams from the ladies in the audience as he breaks out some moves at one point. It’s possible that a big ex-pat contingent came out for this performance—Pala got to No. 6 in the U.K. album chart and it looks like their profile is on the rise on both sides of the Atlantic.
