Freeway: "Listen" (Prod. Jake One)
We still don't know when we can expect to hear Freeway's latest project, Diamond in the Ruff, which will serve as the follow-up to last year's great The Stimulus Package. But that hasn't stopped the grizzly rapper from dropping new material, including this single, "Listen," that features Stimulus Package collaborator Jake One. His understated, piano-led beat is the perfect backdrop for Free's autobiographical and sociopolitical rhymes. And it's this approach that features the Philly spitter at his finest. When he's blending knowledge with street talkin' over a Jake One production, we could listen to Freeway all day. Seriously, these two just need to do another album together already.
