Freddie Gibbs: "The Ghetto"
This California-by-way-of-Indiana MC has developed quite the reputation for injecting personal tales of street life into his rhymes. "The Ghetto," which will appear on Str8 Killa No Filla, continues to build that reputation as it provides an eye-opening look into the life Freddie Gibbs experienced growing up in Gary, Ind. What makes it especially enjoyable, though, is the fact that Gibbs' rhyming is so natural. He rides the smooth beat with ease while displaying a clear knack for strong lyricism. It's one of those tracks you need to play several times to truly grasp, too, as you will likely get stuck just nodding your head along to the production.
