I was skeptical of the news that Freddie Gibbs had signed to Jeezy's Corporate Thugz Entertainment imprint for one big, aggravating reason: Album delays. Even Jeezy himself is facing numerous delays for his TM103 project, which doesn't even have a release date anymore. But I have a strong feeling that whatever Gibbs is working on won't face the same fate considering his increasingly widespread presence. Oh, and the fact that he just dropped a monstrous new single, "Stripes (Run D MC)," that features him trading verses with Jeezy. The two rappers go in over a Lil Lody's colossal beat, which Gibbs uses as his play thing. And is it just me, or are they making a clear jab at the "swag" movement with the repeating of "snow" heard throughout the track? Whatever the case, "Stripes" has the potential to be huge.
