Freddie Gibbs, Statik Selektah: "Rap Money" F. Daz
In case you missed it, Statik Selektah and Freddie Gibbs recorded an entire EP last night. They also live-streamed the recording process, which took place in the producer/DJ's Brooklyn studio. And before the resulting effort, Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away, ends up on iTunes tonight, you can get a preview of what to expect with "Rap Money." It's a midtempo, gangsta-rap fest driven by Statik's horn stabs and the thuggish rhymes of Gibbs and West Coast guest Daz. The two are a strong pairing on the mic as the latter adds a touch of Cali-based swagger to Gibbs' Midwestern grit.
