On his "White" remix, Melo-X smoothers Frank Ocean’s sparse, plaintive Odd Future collaboration with ethereal haze, resulting in a more expansive and appropriately spacey cut. The track, which is stretched double the length of the version found on the group’s Odd Future Tape Vol. 2 (released today), borrows its backbone from the original song's instrumental finale.
Several new layers are gradually introduced to the mix, most notably, a guest verse from the producer where he translates Ocean’s lyrics into an introspective rap. Thankfully, these additions work to augment, rather than alter, the source track’s world-weary tone. Making this a comparable alternative for fans who deemed the original too short.
