You're So Vain (Carly Simon Cover) (Live at Grammy Nomination Special) (Video)

Amidst the announcing of Grammy nominations last night (go Lil Wayne!), Foo Fighters played a handful of songs for the crowd assembled for a TV nomination special. And among the songs they played is this cover of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain," which the Foos turn into a alt-rock ballad akin to their songs as of late. At first, this seemed like it could be incredibly awful, but instead, it's merely okay. It's like a day with 65 degree weather-- no one has anything to say about it, really. [Stereogum]

Wait, there's a Grammy Nomination special? A show devoted to the nominations? I'm just not sure how to go about questioning that. There are too many avenues.

Basically the thought was that in the past the nominations being announced in the morning was too boring so they went this route. It does seem a bit silly.

The mini concerts would have been better without the nominations and the lame attempts to tie in the categories being announced with the song just performed. The Foos, and BB King were worth wading through the rest.
