Foo Fighters’ Wasting Light is officially released today (April 12) and they celebrated the fact with an appearance on the Daily Show last night. Jon Stewart cracks a few jokes about the record being available on vinyl (“ask you parents,” he exclaims) during his intro, but after that it’s balls-to-the-wall rock time, with Dave Grohl letting his punk influences bleed into the band’s sound via “Bridge Burning” before working in a few of those loud-quiet-loud dynamics that made his name on “Arlandria.” After all these years, Pat Smear still looks like the happiest guy on Earth when he hits his stride.
