Producer extraordinaire/white dude in TV on the Radio Dave Sitek just premiered a rework of Florence and the Machine’s “No Light, No Light” over at FACT. Like most things associated with Sitek, it’s a coldly effective electronic suite – chugging bass, high-flying synths, and a hardened drum snap. Sounds a bit like Dear Science to me. It’s far from the dreaminess of their usual aesthetic, but Florence Welch has a voice that thrives in any environment, be it traditionalist hand-on-heart folk or cosmic rock’n’roll futurism. Apparently the remix will be available as the B-side for the single next year. Listen below, and pray that this isn’t the only time these two will hook up.
