Carson Daly sets the hyperbole meter into overdrive for his intro to this Florence and the Machine clip, calling them “arguably the biggest group of the year” (um, no). But this performance of “Dog Days Are Over” at the Wiltern Theatre does demonstrate how Florence and her band have arced over into the mainstream this year, with a packed crowd clapping along and generally losing their shit as the song ebbs and flows. Nice Morrissey-esque flower arrangement on the mic stand, too.
