The comparison never occurred to me until this morning, but Flo Rida is a lot like Vanilla Ice. He's arriving late to the party (ringtone rap) as a largely gimmicky rapper. But unlike the Ice Man, Flo Rida has been allowed to have more than one hit. But like the harpoon-like flower, Flo Rida is hitching his latest single, "Jump," to a unnecessary and terrible-looking kids' movie, G-Force (lest we forget Vanilla's "Ninja Rap" from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze).
Rida was on Fallon last night doing "Jump," which, all things considered, isn't any worse than his other singles, but there are some ROFLcopter moments near the beginning when he says "G-Force, Flo Rida" like he runs deep with a movie about secret agent gerbils. I just wonder if he appears in the movie after the heroes destroy Tohkka and Razar. Oh wait, that was Secret of the Ooze.
