If you’re not sick of the ubiquitous “Club Can’t Handle Me” by Flo Rida then you soon will be. The relentless promo push behind the song continued yesterday with this performance on Lopez Tonight, which is introduced by the increasingly hoarse host with considerable enthusiasm.
It’s possible, of course, that the people behind Step UP 3D are just getting worried about all these reports claiming 3D has lost its appeal and is, once again, about to head out of fashion. Hence, we get Flo Rida shoved in our faces at every available opportunity in an attempt to drum up support for the movie.
There’s little here to distinguish this from the innumerable other performances of the song—it’s still a ruthlessly efficient pop-rap hybrid, Flo Rida takes his shirt off to screams from the crowd, repeat ad nauseum. Perhaps the producers of Lopez Tonight should have considered broadcasting in 3D instead?
