Gothic songstress (and often deemed Zola Jesus acolyte) Chelsea Wolfe will release an album of acoustic songs on Oct. 16. Unknown Rooms: A Collection of Acoustic Songs strips away much of spooky patter from last year’s Apokalypsis without sacrificing the singer’s fondness for sad spaces. Three songs from the album are available to stream online, the latest being “Flatlands,” a pretty-albeit-haunting folk number that sounds like it was recorded in a decaying 19th century English church.
