“Fear To Fear”

James Blake is kind of a studio rat, eh? After dropping his lauded self-titled debut earlier this year, he quickly got to work on the Enough Thunder EP. And even though that project isn’t even out yet — it drops Oct. 4 — we’ve got something that you won’t be hearing on the EP. It’s being hypothesized that this new track, the chilling “Fear to Fear,” could stem from a forthcoming release on R&S Records. You might recall that they issued two of his earlier EPs, CMYK and Klavierwerke. Wherever it ends up, “Fear to Fear” is a pretty great blend of Blake’s signature sound of dissonant vocals and oddly blended percussion. Hand claps, punching piano, and driving kicks? Sure.
