Fat Joe is trying to recapture his post-"Lean Back" gangster-pop-rap crown, and to that end he's releasing his second album in under a year, Darkworld. The first single from the project, "Slow Down (Ha Ha)" is certainly better than 85% of what Joe has done since 2004, but almost all of that is due to Scoop Deville's absolutely killer beat that is built on a Soul II Soul sample. I suspect that even Waka Flocka Flame would sound pretty good on this. But probably not as good as Jeezy, who along with his bars on Jay-Z's "Real As It Gets," is establishing himself as a song-stealing guest rapper.
Darkworld is due out later this year.
