It took me a few listens of Fat Joe's "Cupcakes" before I realized the song wasn't about the oft-sprinkled foodstuff. It's too bad it's not. "Cupcakes" is Fat Joe's attempt to reclaim the street fan after he had everyone, including your mom, leaning back a few years ago and his throne as the most rotund rapper in the game was taken over by Rick Ross. I'm not sure if this single will be the one to do it, but equating the drug trade to moving miniature cakes that are popular at 8-year-olds' birthday parties might not be the right path.
