Fashawn: "Santiago’s Revenge"
After breaking through with his killer, Exile-produced debut, Boy Meets World, this Fresno, Calif.-based MC has been on his grind. Fashawn's basically stayed on the road as he's taken part on numerous tours, such as Brother Ali's Breakin' Dawn Tour. And when he wasn't impressing crowds across the country -- trust me, he killed it in Providence, R.I. when I saw him -- Fash has been recording several projects. We already got his Ode to Illmatic, which, as its title implies, is the young rapper's tribute to Nas's classic debut. But now, Fashawn's apparently looking to get back to his grittier roots on Grizzly City 3. It's first leak, "Santiago's Revenge," is about as grimy as it gets. He spits tough bar after bar with lines like, "I see through 'em like X-rays/they lame, in fact/they ain't part of the game/hang they ass!"
