Fashawn: "Life's a Bitch" f. Talib Kweli
Fashawn announced his tribute to Nas's classic debut a few weeks ago when the young California MC was discussing his plans for 2010. Aside from continuing to tour and working on a project with Alchemist and Evidence, Fashawn said he got a hold of all the Illmatic instrumentals and was planning to rap over them. And just like that, another leak from An Ode to Illmatic has hit the web. "Life's a Bitch," which features one of the best opening verses from AZ, gets revamped as Talib Kweli kicks off the track followed by Fashawn taking on Nas's verse. They both follow the rhyme scheme of the original while putting their own spin on the lyrical aspect of the track. That being said, if the rest of An Ode to Illmatic sounds this well done, we might have a strong contender for mixtape of the year.
