Fashawn: "Change" F. Chill Moody
While we sit idly by and wait to find out when Fashawn will drop his sophomore opus, The Ecology, new tracks like this will have to do. That's especially true if he intends on spitting over more Sam Cooke samples, like he does on German producer Sepalot's "Change." As you might expect, it features a vocal sample from Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come," which Sepalot uses to paint a pensive, albeit pulsing, backdrop. It's a perfect setting for Fash and Philly rapper Chill Moody, who shines just as bright as his West Coast contemporary. This tune is off Sepalot's new album, Chasing Clouds, which drops Sept. 30.
