Occasionally Carson Daly does these mini-featurettes on bands, where he shoots a short introduction to a group and then offers up footage of them playing before an actual paying audience. It’s a neat diversion from the usual stiff late night TV crowd, and last night (May 5) folky indie rockers Fanfarlo got the same treatment.
This clip was filmed before an expectant crowd at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, and “The Walls Are Coming Down” is a neatly condensed version of what to expect from Fanfarlo—Beirut-style trumpet interludes, angsty vocal yearnings, and sing-along choruses that involve plenty of joyous interaction between the band and its audience.
Does he say the band has a nice "indie base on 'em"? What does that mean?
