Fanfarlo: "Harold T. Wilkins" (Live on Letterman) (Video)

Swedish musician Simon Balthazar is Fanfarlo, but he drew on a full backing band for his U.S. network television debut on David Letterman’s show last night (Feb. 15). The band is on the road to promote its Reservoir album, which has gained considerable acclaim since being released in September last year (or April in the U.K.).

There’s little escaping the fact that Balthazar has a huge hard-on for David Byrne, both in his vocal style and in the quirkiness of his music. If you can picture a sanitized and ready-for-the-mainstream version of Dirty Projectors, then you’re close to understanding exactly where Fanfarlo is coming from.
