Los Angeles' Exile made his official full-length debut as a rapper last fall with the release of 4TRK MIND, an off-the-wall project filled with sometimes-goofy, other times-heartfelt rhymes and some slick sample-based production. And even though far too many people slept on it, that hasn't stopped Ex from shooting the appropriately wacky visuals for album highlight "Klepto."
The track finds him in a high state of bravado, dissing lesser producers and telling him to take the MPC out of their "fucking house." It's with that in mind that we're viewing the thugs in the video as those same weak beatsmiths, who react violently to Ex's shit-talking. They kidnap, beat him to a pulp, and, eventually bury him alive. Sounds dark, we know, but director Andrew Juncker keeps it light by switching back and forth to footage of Ex dressed in a baby blue tux in a theater somewhere. Ridiculous.
