It's only been two days since DJ Premier debuted his track with Evidence off the rapper-producer's forthcoming album, Cats & Dogs. But we already have some visuals for "You," a joint that's equal parts grit and soul thanks in part to Ev's laid-back flow and Premo's sample chops on the beat. The video does the slick boom-bap track justice as director Todd Angkasuwan has laced it with some great special effects. They're not over the top or outrageous, but rather they work to accentuate Evidence's lyrics. It's a clever device and one that ensures you'll keep watching so you can see what happens next. Well done, everyone, this is one of the year's best hip-hop videos (and tracks!) to date. Also, rap nerds, be sure to keep an eye out for the cameos.
