At some point during the past few days, West Coast spitters and frequent collaborators Fashawn and Evidence stopped by DJ Green Lantern's Invasion Radio Show. And amidst chatter on what they're up to right now -- Fash is working on The Ecology while Ev's Cats & Dogs drops in a few weeks -- they were asked to give an "OnDaSpot" freestyle. What ensues in a nearly six minutes of rhymes that will have you grabbing your notebook to write down all the ridiculous punch lines and internal rhymes. I mean, Fash opens his first series of bars with "Like a spatula, I flip vernacular," which is ridiculous. And then you have Ev, who spits stuff like "In the village, beauty lies in the slum" and "Declared, it's a state of an emergency/Those who never heard of me/Evidence is cuttin' off your circuitry." It boggles the mind how under-appreciated these guys are.
Cats & Dogs drops Sept. 27.
