A veritable who’s who of new indie rock crossed with African music are reportedly on the debut album from a collaboration between Radioclit and Malawian singer Esau Mwamwaya: the Ruby Suns, Vampire Weekend, and Santogold.
M.I.A. pops up on “Rain Dance” to do a few verses on the mellow, percussion-led track (which sounds a whole lot like “Bird Flu”). At Mwamwaya’s MySpace, you can also hear his take of Vampire Weekend’s “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa.”
