Envy have been churning out their highly dramatic blend of post-rock and screamo for a while now, and "A Breath Clad In Happiness" is another worthy entry in their ever-expanding catalog. All of the Japanese band's hallmarks are present--the rapidly picked guitar parts, Tetsuya Fukagawa's anguished roar, and the rest of the band playing as if their lives depended on it. It's one of the band's more upbeat tracks to date, continuing in the more energy-packed direction their Abyssal EP started in after the brooding menace of 2006's Insomniac Doze.
"A Breath Clad In Happiness" comes from Envy's upcoming album Recitation, which is due out on Oct. 12 via Temporary Residence. It is available as a free download here.
