The seductive weirdness of Luke Steele's live show is on full display in this rocking video for Empire of the Sun's "Standing on the Shore." Playing to a packed house at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on October 16, Steele made the show a visual festival, complete with masked go-go dancers, a Norse-ly masculine backing duo, and projected visuals worthy of Pink Floyd at the planetarium. All of those things contributed to an amazing vibe for the show, but the real deal is when Steele steps away from the podium to jam out on the guitar. The move wasn't wholly unexpected, given his rock background, but the more visceral take on this tune is proof once again that there is no substitute for the live experience.
