Eminem, at least in the last two years, has definitely morphed into the kind of act that can headline Lollapalooza without any controversy. He may be super radio friendly now, and his headlining set at Lolla may have featured prominent appearances from Bruno Mars, but at his set this weekend, he did a medley of the three songs that will make him immortal for a generation of kids: "My Name Is," "The Real Slim Shady" and "Without Me." Video from the crowd is below, and the most disappointing part is that Eminem seems to be a totally competent festival act now. I guess this is preferable to when he might have been a loose cannon, but it's hard rectifying the ideal of Eminem--the guy whose music I was forbidden to buy in seventh grade--with the Eminem of today. Let's just remember the old times with this one.
