If anyone was hoping that "We Made You" signaled that Eminem's comeback material was going to stick to lampooning celebrities, "3 A.M." will come as a disappointment to you. The song is the type of self-effacing, grim fare that Eminem typically deals in, discussing the singer's problems with substance abuse (see Relapse album cover) in way more violent, graphic terms than his problems ever came to. The song is also alleged to be tribute of sorts for Eminem's deceased friend and former D12 cohort Proof, who was killed by a nightclub bouncer in 2006, after Proof had fatally shot a man.
Relapse is out on Shady/Aftermath May 19.
