For the second video off his tribute to Nas' classic Illmatic, Elzhi has chosen album-closer "It Ain't Hard to Tell." It is, perhaps, my personal favorite cut off Illmatic, partially because of Large Professor's sampling of Michael Jackon's "Human Nature," among other tracks. Nas' lyricism is also at its sharpest on "It Ain't Hard to Tell," which includes too many quotables to list here. With that in mind, Elzhi and Detroit band Will Sessions, who reinterpreted every Illmatic beat, had their hands full with ELmatic. As is evident in the above video, though, they handled the project with extreme care and creativity. If the mixtape isn't on your personal year-end list this December, I recommend you listen again.
