Listening to the leaks from Elzhi's forthcoming free project, ELmatic, can obviously give you a sense of how he's chosen to spit over the beats from Nas's classic debut, Illmatic. But if you're not listening closely enough, you might miss the fact that the productions have been reinterpreted by Detroit-based band Will Sessions. That's where the video for "Halftime" comes in especially handy, other than being another reason to check out Elzhi's killer rhymes. Director Gerard Victor provides ample footage of a live session between the band and MC, who also gets some time to spit at the camera in a warehouse setting. Of course.
