Elvis Costello: "National Ransom" (Live On Letterman) (Video)

Elvis Costello has teamed up with T Bone Burnett to record a new album titled National Ransom, and he showed up on David Letterman’s show last night (Nov. 1) to play the title track from it. The record features backing from a number of musicians, including Tom Waits’ guitarist March Ribot and Costello’s band the Sugarcanes—and it’s the latter that joins him here. This is the kind of raucous country influenced rock that Costello has been comfortably working in for years now, and this performance of “National Ransom” suggests regular fans will be more than happy with the direction of that new record.
