Back in the early and middle part of the '00s, musicians and fans could not get enough of the Knife's "Heartbeats," a song about love and longing from 2003's Deep Cuts (out 2006 in the U.S.). Most memorably, Jose Gonzalez released an acoustic cover as a track on Veneer, proving that "Heartbeats" is as touching with an acoustic guitar as it is with synthesizers and drum machines.
Rising British singer Ellie Goulding is a big fan of covers herself, from Robyn to Temper Traps to Bon Iver, and she recently showed off a tender acoustic version of "Heartbeats" on BBC Radio 1. Pretty much it just sounds like a female version of Jose Gonzalez's take on the song, but remember how great this song is? This song is pretty great.

"a female version of Jose Gonzalez's take on the song" dead on.
