Eleven Tigers: "Stableface" / "Couldn't"

Clouds Are Mountains is the name of the upcoming record by Lituanian producer Eleven Tigers, and it's about as accurate a three-word summation for his style as any. On tracks "Stableface" and "Couldn't," airy synths battle the cold stone of complex rhythms, and gentle vocals are spliced against hard flint. Check the man's craft as he slowly submerges the hook on "Stableface" as it winds down, subtly manipulating the vocal samples until they form the song's affecting end. Grab both "Stableface" and "Couldn't" here, or you can grab the entirety of Clouds Are Mountains on Eleven Tigers' Bandcamp. The record will see physical release come Nov. 9 on Soul Motive. [Pitchfork]
