Eddie Vedder: "Without You" (Live On Letterman) (Video)
David Letterman was so stoked that Eddie Vedder was on his show last night (June 20) that he gave him a lengthy intro in which he discusses how the Pearl Jam singer once gave him a guitar. There’s no guitar in the following performance, however, which is a track taken from Vedder’s recently released Ukulele Songs. As such it’s definitely a step away from the raucous rock that the singer is known for, but that undertow of sensitivity that runs through his work is given a better chance to shine here. Letterman remains enamored right through to the end, even wondering how his own career might have panned out had he possessed Vedder’s vocal ability. Uh, let’s try not to think about that, Dave.
