Fans of Dan Deacon and his Wham City collective are likely fully aware of the music of Ed Schrader, a Baltimore-based musician with a penchant for minimalist post-punk. At least, that's his approach as Ed Schrader's Music Beat with bassist Devlin Rice. Together, they record blasts of noisy, driving, and, perhaps most importantly, catchy jams that smack you across the face so quickly that you might not even realize it happened.
That's especially true on "When I'm in a Car," which serves as the latest cut off their upcoming release, Jazz Mind. The blissful fury of the track is propelled by Schrader and Rice's tandem attack along with the snarling guitar work of No Age's Randy Randall. You can stream and download the track and view the duo's upcoming tour dates below. Jazz Mind drops March 20 on Load Records.
