Eagles of Death Metal are either the lamest cock-rockers to ever don an obtuse mustache and use a fuzz box, or they’re the biggest hucksters currently operating in the indie-rock idiom. It’s hard to tell which is which with their new single “Wannabe in L.A.,” which is obviously a pun, and has barrels of chooga-chooga guitars and sexually charged vocal preening.
“Wannabe in L.A.” is from the band’s upcoming third album, Heart On (these dudes love puns), due out on October 21 via Downtown. [Stereogum]
