Dustin Wong: "Infinite Love" (Video)

We may not be getting any new music from Baltimore noise titans Ponytail any time soon, but guitarist Dustin Wong is the first member to fill that sizable gap. He has a record coming out on Thrill Jockey on Oct 5 titled Infinite Love, and is previewing the album with this video and free download of “Talking Walking Cloud” (available here).

Wong also shot the short film above, which features his minimalist guitar plucking as a soundtrack. It sounds like he's still working in the same way he did with Ponytail, by piling on layer after layer of guitar sounds, but in a much more ambient setting, somewhat reminiscent of a cross between Steve Reich and the quieter moments of Wong’s new labelmates, the Sea and Cake.
