Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers have just released their eleventh album Go-Go Boots, which forms a radical departure for the band. The mixture of influences drawn from the chillwave and witch house movements that flourished in 2010 has shocked the hardcore support of the group, who got an online petition together to prevent them from adding several triangles and upside down crucifixes to their name.
Note: some of the above may not be true. In fact, this is just business as usual for the band, who perform a gentle country inflected rock tune here for Jimmy Fallon’s show, which should calm down any fans whose pulses were set racing by the above paragraph. Sorry guys. I guess the thought of Paterson Hood donning a large cape and performing some faux Lil Wayne-style rap verses will just have to remain a wild fantasy of mine.
