Drake: "Unforgettable" f. Jeezy

The leaks keep on coming from Drake's upcoming, much anticipated debut, Thank Me Later. At this point, all of the tracks have been decent enough but not really up to the quality heard on So Far Gone. But "Unforgettable," which boasts an Aaliyah vocal sample, is in the same lane as what we heard on that mixtape. While it's another subdued, relationship- and struggle-centric track from Drake, "Unforgettable" works thanks to the songwriting and smooth production from Boi-1da and 40. But the track gets taken to another level when Jeezy comes in with his show-stealing guest verse and hook. Additionally, his trademark raspy, throaty flow provides an excellent contrast to Drake's floaty, sing-song raps.

So far, I'm thinking "Unforgettable" is the best cut we have heard from Thank Me Later, which drops June 15. You can stream it below.

I'm kinda over this album already. Major label debut albums are crafted for maximum financial impact these days. Commerce first, artistry second. I'm officially letting go of Thank Me Later being the event album of this year. Drake's way better off the cuff than he is crafting songs anyhow. Isn't that the lesson of So Far Gone?

I take back what I said. I forgot "Over" was the first single. It took me a minute, but I love that track. I still am expecting the album to be a monster. "Forever" is my favorite track and that wasn't on So Far Gone.

Even though I eventually started to enjoy "Over," I think this track trumps it off the bat.
