What? You thought coverage would slow down just because it dropped? Following in the digital footsteps of "The Ride," which was left off Take Care's original leak, here's "Hate Sleeping Alone," the second iTunes bonus cut after "The Motto." Produced by 40, "Alone" is, you guessed it, about how Drake hates sleeping without a bedmate. While coasting on drum and bass atmospherics, the rapper indignantly spits how he feels. (You'd be right to say the approach is nothing new). But Drake's speciality isn't emotionalism--it's his honesty, and the fact that he's never asked to be accepted for what he says.
Maybe Drizzy's whole persona is a gimmick and he's just tugging heartstrings to cash in, but why would any person so publicly and consistently self-examine if they weren't being genuine? It makes no sense--plus, let's not give him so much credit. Drake's willingness and ability to reflect on himself are what separate confidence from cockiness on his more love-centric songs.
