Just as I expected, this track is beginning to grow on me since it leaked and hit the web almost two weeks ago. "Find Your Love" still sounds like an 808s & Heartbreak leftover or at least something Kanye West, who produced this track, was working on just after he wrapped up that album. But even so, Drake's modest approach on here remains just as endearing as it was on his So Far Gone mixtape. Well, except for the "hey, hey, hey" parts. The track's over-the-top visuals, which have Drake caught in the middle of some gang/love situation, take me back to the '90s, when R. Kelly was shooting videos like this all the time.
And is it just me or are these brand of videos making a bit of a comeback? Even though MTV is hardly playing videos anymore, if at all, perhaps artists are realizing the visuals for a single are still somewhat crucial.
Drake's Thank Me Later is due out June 15.
