A total of three tracks from Drake's soon-coming sophomore album, Take Care, hit the web last night and they're all about as diverse as they could possibly be. They also confirm and/or amend some rumors that had been swirling surrounding the record.
First, there's the Euro-inspired title-track, which features Rihanna and heavily samples Jamie xx and Gil Scott-Heron's "I'll Take Care of U." Ah, so there's that Jamie xx "collaboration" we heard so much about earlier this year. There is also an interpolation of "It's My Party" in which Drake sings "It's my party, I'll get high if I want to." Got it.
Then, we have "Lord Knows," a much more straightforward hip-hop joint with Just Blaze on the beat and Rick Ross on the grunts. Err, guest verse. This confirms that Drizzy's go-to producer, Noah "40" Shebib, might have been involved on every track, but he didn't technically produce the entire LP.
And finally, there's perhaps the most intriguing tune of them all, "Crew Love." It's one of four tracks on the album to feature fellow Toronto resident the Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye. His emotive, falsetto-y croon almost serves as another instrumental layer in the rich, hazy production.
