Like the Rick Ross-featured "Free Spirit" before it, "Club Paradise" is one of several tracks Drake decided to give away on his blog last night. Whereas its predecessor was a slightly more straightforward hip-hop joint, this cut finds Drizzy back in moody-mode with frequent collaborator/producer Noah "40" Shebib lacing the beat. He's as contemplative as ever, crooning emotional sad-sackisms on the hook, and switching between rapping and singing throughout the verses. It's not exactly what I would classify as potential single material, but hell, I didn't think "Marvin's Room" and its lengthy runtime would hit on the radio, either.
Drake released the track with the following message, which doesn't really tell us whether or not it will land on Take Care. If it does, I'm thinking it will be a deep cut, but we'll see.
Dropping this for our boy Avery...this was his favorite shit during the recording process. 2 more songs coming tonight as well. ovoxo
