Drake: "9AM in Dallas" (Mastered Version)
There are some albums, especially in hip-hop, that seem like they would never actually be released. I'm talking records like Dr. Dre's Detox and the second Deltron 3030 effort that have been pushed back so many times it's almost pointless to even anticipate them anymore.
Although Drake's long-awaited debut, Thank Me Later, never got to the point of either of those records, it certainly faced its fair share of delays. But it's finally being released tomorrow and if you grab it off iTunes, you will get this special bonus track, "9AM in Dallas." An unfinished version leaked a few weeks ago, but this here is the final, mastered track with some extra oomph in the kicks and snares. It's also a chance for Drake to straight-up rap for nearly three minutes straight as he mostly avoids the whole sing-song thing.

Anybody read the NYTimes story on Drake this weekend?
*partially raises hand* I read the first few paragraphs but got busy with other stuff. I feel like I could make a long-winded argument both for and against Drake being labeled the most "important and innovative" rap artist doing it now. I can sum it up by just saying I feel like he's doing what we already heard from Kanye West in the whole honesty/heartfelt department. Yeezy just didn't "sing" until 808s.
yeah, he sure looked pretty. this kid's as much of a media hype product as britney or j-tims. rap is f-ing bored with itself cause this one is not a star. not feeling it.
