I didn't get to catch this live last night as I was out at a friend's concert, but upon returning home I noticed that most of my Twitter timeline was filled with jokes, comments, and hate directed at Kanye West's outfit during his performance at halftime of the NBA All-Star Game. There were plenty of tweets mentioning Rihanna's hair and her thighs, too.
The focus, obviously, was not on their actual performances, which were, for the most part, pretty entertaining. RiRi's voice still wavers in a live setting, particularly during "Only Girl (In the World)," but she wasn't really singing all that much anyway. The highlight comes toward the end, when Kanye emerged to deliver "All of the Lights." His voice is equipped with a gruff energy, which he also portrays through crotch-grabs and playing hypeman to RiRi. It's a decent romp and chances are this is the first of many live "All of the Lights" performances we will see in the next year or so.
Wow. NBA all-star Halftime show SMOKED the super bowl halftime show. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
