As Axl Rose can testify, the problem with taking tens of years to record an album is that it is bound to seem super-outdated. Such is the case with "Kush," the alleged first single from Dr. Dre's long-in-the-works Detox LP, which sounds like the most okay stoner rap 2005 had to offer. From the beat down to that Akon hook, this sounds like it was created to be as inoffensive as possible. It's overly manufactured, and has hardly any of the personality that made Dre the producer du jour of the 1990s. Doesn't bode well for Detox. Listen below.
could do okay at the clubs and i like the piano but it's nowhere near chronic 2001 levels
It'll do more than "okay" in the clubs. This has banger written all over it. And Prefix can get off the Chinese Democracy tie in. You all already mentioned that in an article before. Write something new.
what
Seriously? We're supposed to ignore the fact that this album took forever to produce? And then not compare it to another similar album?
I could see this kind of growing on me. I think the mystique surrounding Detox is driving the expectations up a ton. Is this mind-blowing? No, but I'm not exactly fast-forwarding through it either.
Lets get fact straight, this is a straight up banger with the hook 'inhale LA exhale LA inhale '' music production is crazy! from the drum snares kicks, and the piano! magic! dre only started this in 2005, then he stopped as he started producing other albums hes only gone into it since late 2009!!!
Get your fact straight before you start commenting!

i still think 'Detox' will be an amazing album, but this song still sounds like c-level dre
whoever wrote this article is dumb, ignorant, and uninformed

Agree 100% I'm afraid Dre lost his touch. Sad day in hip hop.
